Animals not born into street life

A single sterilisation prevents far more than one life of suffering. Using conservative estimates of 12 potential offspring per dog and 18 per cat over their first two breeding years, our 1,014 sterilisations so far have prevented an estimated:

15,870

cats and dogs from being born into street life across Mexico, Colombia and Thailand.

Spay/neuter programmes are widely recognised as a humane way to reduce unwanted litters, shelter intake, and pet homelessness.

How we calculate this: Sterilisation is the single most effective and humane intervention for reducing street animal overpopulation. Conservative estimates from the FAO/WSPA Dog Population Management report and the NIH review on dog population management effectiveness suggest each unsterilised female dog produces an average of 6–12 surviving offspring per year. For cats, the ICAM Humane Cat Population Management Guidance documents an average of 8–18 surviving offspring per year per unsterilised female. We apply a conservative two-year horizon to reflect immediate impact only. The true long-term figure (accounting for the offspring of offspring) is many times higher, as per the ASPCA spay/neuter impact data, which estimates one unspayed female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs in six years. And one unspayed female cat and her offspring can produce over two million cats in 8 years.

WHAT WE DO

Compassion without borders

Pancho and Tibby Animal Society partners with trusted local rescues and community groups, we fund high-impact solutions such as sterilisation campaigns, emergency veterinary care, rescue supplies, and practical support that creates lasting change. By working with people who already know their communities, every donation has the highest possible impact.

COMPASSION WITHOUT BORDERS

In our first year, with your help, we have sponsored more than 600 sterilisations across Mexico, Colombia, and Thailand. Sterilisations are the most impactful way to helping reduce street animal overpopulation, prevent future suffering as well as reduce the impact on the environment that cat and dog overpopulation has.

Our commitment each year is to deliver at least this level of impact, alongside our partners.

Local experts, global support

We want to make the best out of our resources, so we partner with experienced rescuers who understand local challenges, costs, and their communities. This means faster action, lower costs, and greater impact for every £ donated.

We carefully assess the organisations we support, review their work, and maintain oversight to ensure funds are used solely for mission-led purposes such as sterilisation, veterinary care, rescue supplies, and direct animal welfare support. 100% of donations  received go to vet expenses, food or equipment.

OUR PROJECTS

We currently work with several rescues and organisations across Colombia, Mexico and Thailand. And with your support, we can expand our partnerships.
